About Dr. Wayne M. Shelton Sr.

Cybersecurity Practitioner. Leadership. Ministry.

Wayne M. Shelton Sr. is a retired military veteran, cybersecurity practitioner, and church ministry leader with three decades of service — 12 of those years as a Church Planter and Lead Pastor. He has spent his career at the intersection of two things most people keep separate: technical expertise and genuine service to people. And though the roles have shifted over the seasons, the calling hasn't. Whether he is working as an Cybersecurity Practitioner, speaking to a congregation, or sitting across from someone trying to figure out their next step, the work is the same: helping people navigate complexity they didn't ask to be in, clearly and practically.

Behind the work is Sharon, his wife of 34 years. Together they have raised their two children and enjoy being grandparents. He loves working in his homelab where he can test new concepts, break things on purpose, and stay sharp on the tools he writes and teaches about. The work never really stops; it just changes rooms.

Wayne holds active certifications including CISM, CGRC, CySA+, Security+, Network+, A+, Server+, Cloud+, Project+, CTT+, MCSA, and MCP. Previously held credentials include the MCT, CCNA, and ITIL 4 — each relevant to the work and the story behind it.

His academic foundation includes a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Ministry, a Master of Arts in Divinity and Practical Theology, a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Management, and an Associate of Arts in Electrical Mechanical Technology.
